Emergency Services

Always prepared, both in the air and on the ground, members of the Civil Air Patrol perform emergency services for state and local agencies as well as the federal government as the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and for states/local communities as a nonprofit organization. Ever vigilant, these true patriots make a difference in their communities, not only to assist in times of disaster but also to search for the lost and protect the homeland.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Per CAP regulations, you can be approved and permitted to participate in Emergency Services exercises after you complete the CAPT-116 (GES) exam and the ICUT exam and review. You will be required to bring your pack, 101 card and CAP ID to those exercises.

As per CAPR 60-3: Ground Team Members – GTM-3 should be prepared to conduct ground team operations within their limits of training for up to 24 hours, GTM-2 up to 48 hours, and GTM-1 up to 72 hours.
